There is a remarkable phenomenon that is seeping into even small towns across America. Recognizing that people want to express themselves and have fun doing so, workshops with names like “Sip and Paint” or “Painting with a Twist” are springing up everywhere. Dillon, Montana, is no exception. February 27th at 6:30 Colleen Howe Cheney will host the second Sip and Paint event at Tendoy Fine Art, 120 N. Montana St. in the ArtSpace room.
Cheney is a professional artist with works exhibited throughout the West. She loves to teach and has an ongoing class in oil painting on Wednesday mornings at ArtSpace. She is also a veteran teacher of this kind of event where artists gather in the evening with a beverage of choice and do an art project. While the result may not be masterpiece art, the benefits are answering a need for activities that bring people together for fun and creative expression. The art project is usually directed by an artist and registration includes all supplies. Most Sip and Paint experiences target adults, but some are even designed for children. Sip and Paint is an opportunity to get together with friends or to meet new people. Cheney emphasizes that no artistic experience is necessary, but everyone should leave having had a great time.
Registration for the Sip and Paint event can be done by calling Cheney at 406-925-9434 or the Tendoy Fine Art gallery at 406-660-3007. Cost for the event is $27.00.
